Ivan Kazansky is one of Russia’s most renowned sculptors and painters. Born in Moscow, (1940), Kazansky attended Moscow’s prestigious Special School for the Arts at the Academy of Arts. He went on to graduate, with honors, from The Moscow Institute for Arts and Design, with a MFA Degree in sculpture, continuing on as a professor of academic sculpture there. Kazansky is currently serving his fourth term as Chairman of the Sculpture Section of the Moscow Union of Artists and is President of the Moscow Sculpture Association. He is a member of both the Moscow City Planning and Building Board and the Expert Board on Sculpture for the Russian Minister of Culture. In 2003, he was granted membership in the elite Academy of Russian Artists. Throughout his career Ivan Kazansky has won many national and international awards gaining him a unique position and respect in his field. He has collaborated with architects to design sculptures and installations for theaters, cultural centers, hotels and embassies throughout the world. His works are a featured part of the permanent collection at the Tretyakovskaya Gallery in Moscow; St. George Hall and the Winter Garden of the Kremlin Palace; the Russian Embassy buildings in Germany, Paris, and Morocco; the Russian Consulate in New York, and the headquarters of the International Maritime Organization in London. Currently, Kazansky divides his time between homes in Russia and
